Do you believe in coincidence? I don't. Spilborghs, sporting the sweet beard, was enjoying a great season as the Rockies 4th outfielder and pinch hitter. But he shaves the beard, injures his oblique running bases and will likely be put on the DL today.

...but between shaving the beard and his injury, they won five straight and he got a lot of playing time, and was batting very well. Odds are we'll see him return in a month with a beard to rival all others.
You're right, for a time shaving the beard seemed to be working very well for them. It's a fine balance I guess. But they definitely miss Spilly, beard or not I hope he's back soon.
